Explanation of complaint between customer and invention promoter:

Called company with an invention back in 1998 about the “Pen lite”. I was told that I had a wonderful idea and it hadn’t been patented yet. I filled out a questionnaire about my invention and sent drawing to the company. I was told that my initial start-up fee was $545. I paid about half of that before I moved to a new location. I then phoned the company to give them my new contact information and to speak with my representative only to be told that redacted no longer works for them. I was then transferred to redacted and he came on the phone saying, “Where have you been?” I said hi, I’m calling to give you my new contact information and was also wondering about the progress of my invention. He said, “are you going to sent the rest of the money”, I said yeah but tell my how it’s coming along. Not long after that I saw my invention being advertised on “TBN” and it’s now in Wal-Mart, Dollar General, and other major retail outlets. If you have an invention please find out about the legalities before pursuing an illegitimate company!
