So OEHHA scientists are working with University of California professors and scientists from other Cal/EPA boards and departments to develop "multimedia risk assessment" using mathematical models, which run on a computer, to estimate the "fate and transport" of chemicals - that is the amount of a chemical that will migrate in air, dust, silt, or water to lakes, mountains, estuaries, bays, or other environments.
