National Science Board Members to Meet at NSF Headquarters on Feb. 6 and 7

On Wednesday and Thursday, February 6 and 7, 2008, the National Science Board (Board) will hold the first of its six annual meetings related to national science and engineering policy issues and oversight of the National Science Foundation (NSF). Open session highlights include: - Thursday, Feb. 7, 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. - Science and Engineering Indicators Subcommittee meeting, during which Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs Cynthia A. Glassman will deliver a presentation on the new report, Innovation Measurement--Tracking the State of Innovation in the American Economy, with Director of the Bureau of Economic Analysis J. Steven Landefeld, followed by discussion with Board members; and
- Thursday, Feb. 7, 1 to 2 p.m. - Open Plenary Session, during which Anne Simon, professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the department of cell biology and molecular genetics, will deliver a presentation entitled "Uncovering New Paradigms in the Biology of Viruses," followed by discussion.
