Weather Synopsis:
Another weak upper level disturbance and cold front will move east across the region today and Friday. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible along the Canadian border in W MT today and E MT Friday. Near critical fire weather conditions are possible over portions of SW and South Central MT as well as over Yellowstone Park today as breezy winds interact with very low humidities. Another, weaker disturbance will move east along the border on Saturday and will create breezy winds in the higher elevations. High pressure will build over the area Sunday through Wednesday. Temps will rise to be about 10 degrees above normal under sunny and stable skies.
Fire Potential Discussion:
Down sloping winds through Thursday may produce some locally dry conditions for southwest and south central MT. Southwest ND will be warm and dry under southerly winds.
