DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:   The Soil and Water Management Research Unit (SWMRU), Conservation and Production Laboratory, Bushland, Texas is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position to merge and process aircraft/satellite data at field to regional scales. The research will include the integration of coarser thermal infrared data with high resolution visible and near-infrared data to improve spatial resolution of surface temperature maps and use those maps with energy balance models such as METRIC, SEBAL, and TSEB for evapotranspiration mapping at regional scales. Research will focus upon practical integration of aircraft, satellite (ASTER, Landsat, and MODIS) thermal and visible/near infrared data at 4-1000 m resolutions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A recent Ph.D. in Agricultural, Civil Engineering or Hydrology, or a closely related hydrologic science field is required. Knowledge of soil-plant-atmosphere-continuum modeling, computer programming, and remote sensing are required. Knowledge of land surface hydrology, data assimilation, and skill in GIS are desirable.
