Schools

Three of Stanford's seven schools offer undergraduate and graduate programs: Earth Sciences, Engineering, Humanities & Sciences. The other four offer graduate programs: Business, Education, Law and Medicine.


Departments & Programs

Stanford's academic departments are listed here both alphabetically and by school. In addition, a number of interdisciplinary programs cross the boundaries between departments and disciplines.


Academic Calendar and Courses

The Registrar's Office maintains student academic records, the Stanford Bulletin course catalog and the academic calendar. They also run Axess, the on-line academic information system used by students, faculty and advisors.


Undergraduate Academic Life

The Stanford undergraduate program is designed to achieve balance between depth of knowledge acquired through specialization and breadth of knowledge gained through exploration.


Graduate Academic Life

While responsibility for graduate studies lies primarily with Stanford's departments and schools, the Vice Provost for Graduate Education works across the university to enhance the quality of graduate education.


Professional, Continuing, & K-12

Stanford offers valuable opportunities for lifelong learning, including continuing adult education, executive and professional programs, and special programs for K-12 students.
