Health Protection Research Initiative: Investigator Initiated Research (R01)
In FY 2004, CDC awarded 31 investigator initiated research grants in worksite health promotion for $12.2 million. The purpose of this solicitation was to fund research aimed at studying innovative cost-effective health promotion policies, programs, and activities in the workplace or affecting the workplace. This initiative was in response for the need to expand the knowledge base needed for successful implementation of health promotion programs in the workplace. Priority was given to studies that emphasized the design and evaluation of intervention and identification of determinants affecting the successful implementation of evidence-based cost-effective health promotion interventions in the workplace that also have workplace impact.
