About SSDS


Social Science Data and Software (SSDS) is a group within the Stanford University Libraries & Academic Information Resources (SULAIR) that provides services and support to Stanford faculty, staff and students in the acquisition of social science data and the selection and use of quantitative (statistical) and qualitative analysis software. SSDS staff provide these services in a variety of ways that include consulting, workshops and help documentation. We are located in the Social Sciences Resource Center (SSRC) on the first floor of the Green Library Bing Wing.

 


Walk-In Consulting Hours

Monday, January 19 (Holiday)

SSDS walk-in and email consulting services will not be available.  The Velma Denning Room will be open 1-5pm.  Consulting services and regular room hours will resume Tuesday, January 20.  

 

Walk-in consultations take place Monday - Thursday in The Velma Denning Room during fall, winter and spring quarters. The Room is located in the Social Sciences Resource Center (SSRC), on the first floor of the Green Library Bing Wing.

Winter Quarter Walk-in Schedule:
January 12 - March 12, 2008 (except University holidays)

  • Monday - Thursday, 1:00 - 3:00pm: Data Consulting
    For help with finding and getting data.
  • Monday - Thursday, 3:00 - 5:00pm: Software Consulting
    For help with choosing and getting started with software; opening, cleaning, recoding, restructuring and analyzing data in software.
