Science Education
Education of undergraduates and graduate students occupies a central focus of the departments activities, and the formal teaching program is recognized nationally and internationally for its excellence in developing and delivering educational materials through a variety of print and electronic media. In addition to the formal teaching program, the department supports the belief that education extends beyond the physical boundaries of the campus and reaches into local schools and communities. Educational outreach provides an opportunity to educate all citizens of Indiana and the nation on the wonder of insects and their relatives; the impact they have on our health, economic prosperity, and contribution to scientific knowledge in fields beyond entomology. The departments outreach educational programs reach K-12 students and non-traditional learners through formal and informal programs. Our educational outreach programs currently include:
