Weather Service Central Region
Need a weather forecast or want to check the latest radar images?
This site contains the links to all of the NWS offices in the Central
Region and links to all other NWS web sites. The NWS Central Region
includes all of the states covered by the MRCC except Ohio.
The
Storm Prediction Center
The SPC monitors weather conditions around the country and issues
timely and accurate forecasts and watches for severe thunderstorms
and tornadoes over the contiguous United States. The SPC also
monitors heavy rain, heavy snow, and fire weather events across
the U.S. and issues specific products for those hazards. In addition
to the outlooks and forecasts, the SPC site also contains an archive
of storm reports and some very nice photographs of severe weather.
Real-Time
Weather Data from the National Center for Atmospheric Research
(NCAR)
This site a great source for current weather data and, the data
and graphics are intended for use by pilots, meteorologists, weather
enthusiasts and aviation-related personnel. The satellite, surface,
and upper air data pages are particularly good.
IWIN - Interactive
Weather Information Network
The National Weather Service IWIN site offer quick and easy access
to a wide variety of weather data from the NWS including forecasts,
warnings, watches, current weather, and public products. The
Animated Graphics Version is the best if you have a high speed
Internet connection. An enhanced graphics version and text version
are also available.
National Centers
for Environmental Prediction
NCEP delivers national and global weather, water, climate and
space weather guidance, forecasts, warnings and analyses. NCEP
is the umbrella organization for the Storm Prediction Center,
the Climate Prediction Center, and seven other centers. Among
other things, NCEP is responsible for running the numerical models
that are used by the NWS and other meteorologists to produce forecasts.

A good source of graphical weather information produced using
the popular WXP analysis software.
College of DuPage
NexLab
The College of DuPage proclaims it has "the most comprehensive
community college meteorology program in the country". If
severe weather or storm chasing is your thing, then this site
should be on your bookmark list. Model analysis, radar images,
satellite photos, and regional weather data are all available.
Environment
Canada
Environment Canada is the Canadian equivalent of the U.S. National
Weather Service. If you have a need for weather and climate information
from our friends north of the border, this is the place.
The American
Meteorological Society (AMS)
The AMS promotes the development and dissemination of information
and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic
sciences. Founded in 1919, AMS has a membership of more than 11,000
professionals, professors, students, and weather enthusiasts.

The National Weather
Association
The NWA, formed in 1975, supports and promotes excellence in operational
meteorology.
Weatherwise
- the Magazine about the Weather
Weatherwise is the only general interest magazine about the weather
in the U.S. It has been published since 1948, first by the American
Meteorological Society and now by Heldref Publications.
Space Weather
Now
For a look at different kind of weather, surf over to this highly
graphical site and find information on the solar wind, auroras,
and other space weather. NOAA's Space Environment Center is the
official source of space weather alerts, warnings, and forecasts.
