The Zoo Can Be a Venue for Your Special Event

aerial view of Amazonia Science GalleryThe National Zoo offers groups and individuals the extraordinary opportunity to cosponsor an event surrounded by magnificent creatures and endangered wildlife in an educational environment.

Virtually any site around the Zoo can be a special event venue.

Cosponsor a luncheon on the Great Meadow in the heart of the Zoo and marvel at the orangutans as they swing freely overhead.

Turn a reception into an adventure at Amazonia and look into the eyes of enormous river fish as you meander through a tropical rainforest.

Wander into a winter breakfast at the Elephant House, and intimately observe elephants, giraffes, and hippos as they enjoy their morning meal. Your imagination and our living exhibits make every event at the Zoo special.

The Zoo provides unlimited opportunities to amaze, entertain, and inform your guests. In addition to the educational displays found throughout the park, you may choose to have an animal building remain open and enjoy a private tour with a keeper or curator. Captivate your guests by requesting an animal feeding. Or schedule to have a keeper and an animal make an appearance at your event to create an unforgettable experience.

Corporations, associations, and others who make unrestricted gifts to the Zoo are invited to cosponsor a special celebratory event and can choose to hold a dinner, reception, picnic, or other similar activity in accordance with our special event policy and guidelines.

Evening receptions can be arranged for 25 to 2,000 guests, and seated dinners for 10 to 1,000 guests. Our auditorium, which seats 300, and other classrooms or boardrooms offer additional opportunities for special programs. Social events of a personal nature, as well as fundraising, product marketing, and political events, are not permitted.

The Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat, with our beloved family of giant pandas, is available for private functions at a higher donation level to help fund continued research. Inquire soon to book a date for an event that will surely "wow" your guests.
