Impaired and Threatened Water Bodies

(303(d) Water Body Lists)

Listing Impaired and Threatened Water Bodies

States and Territories identify impaired and threatened water bodies that are not expected to meet water quality standards. Lists of these water bodies are provided to the public and EPA every two years for review and approval. The lists are priority- ranked, based on the severity of the pollution and the uses to be made of the water.

The following hotlinks provide additional information contained in the lists. The official submittal approved by the EPA is available through the individual State Departments of Health and Environment or the EPA office in Denver, Colorado.
