Goal:
To create partnerships and
collaborative interventions between the
nutrition assistance programs, health
care providers, schools, faith-based
groups, and/or other community
organizations to promote healthy eating
and regular physical activity to FNS
program recipients, based on the key
messages in the Dietary Guidelines for
Americans.
Objective 1:
All FNS programs in NJ will
consistently promote a message to FNS
program participants to increase
consumption of fruits and vegetables and
calcium-rich foods.
Tactics:

Plan
and implement the 2008-09 Fresh
Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP)
in 25 NJ Schools. WIC- NJ Fruit
& Vegetable Program: Will serve
as a member of project advisory
committee, to include application
review, project support and
distribution of shared resources.

Ongoing
development and revisions of School
Wellness Policy Resources. FSNE:
Continue to pilot and share
comments, suggested revisions for
NJ's Quick Steps to Fruits and
Vegetables Toolkit.

Implementation
of the Calcium: Select to Protect
social marketing campaign in
partnership with:
A.
Food Stamp Program offices: Statewide
distribution of campaign materials to
new applicants, including waiting room
displays of posters and brochures.
B.WIC Program offices: Local WIC
Agencies statewide will disseminate
the Calcium Campaign brochure; have
access to the Calci-yum lesson
activities and waiting rooms displays
of posters and brochures.
