On Monday, two-term Republican Senator George Voinovich of Ohio became the latest in a string of Republican senators to announce their resignation in 2010. “I must devote my full time, energy and focus to the job I was elected to do, the job in front of me, which seeking a third term – with the money-raising and campaigning that it would require – would not allow me to do,” Mr. Voinovich said in a statement.
John Conyers is one of the most-viewed Representatives.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) has written a letter to his Democratic colleagues expressing disapproval for Obama's pick of Dr. Sanjay Gupta for Surgeon General. “It is not in the best interests of the nation to have someone like this who lacks the requisite experience needed to oversee the federal agency that provides crucial health care assistance to some of the poorest and most underserved communities in America," Conyers wrote.
