HCC signs agreement for US$ 8.2 billion new city in India |
International Construction (January 14, 2009) - Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Gujarat province to develop a new waterfront city in Dholera. Total investment for the scheme is put at INR 40000 Crore (US$ 8.2 billion), and it will be built on similar lines to the company's hilltop Lavasa development near Pune, Maharashtra.

Korean AWP manufacturer plans increased production and export drive |
Access International (January 14, 2009) - Korean Aerial work platform manufacturer, Junjincsm Co. Ltd. is planning to increase its production of aerial work platforms from 800 in 2008 to 2000 units by 2011. In its home market of Korea it believes there is substantial scope for expansion into a developing construction market. Overseas, Junjincsm will be focusing on the rental and construction markets of the Middle East, South America, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong and the shipbuilding industries in Vietnam, India, Philippines and some European countries. |

€18 billion construction boost in German stimulus package |
