NSF REU: Research Opportunities in Interdisciplinary Watershed Sciences and Engineering at Virginia Tech
2007 NSF REU fellows participate
in a drinking water experiment
The Water Center has been awarded a highly competitive award by the National Science Foundation called Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF-REU), in the interdisciplinary area of watershed sciences and engineering.
The NSF-REU program allows undergraduate students from across the country to work for 10 weeks during the summer in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment at Virginia Tech, while nourishing their analytical skills and creativity as future water scientists and engineers.
The NSF-REU fellows are selected competitively, giving priority to highly qualified applicants of diverse cultural backgrounds who may have few research opportunities at their home institutions.
Initiated in 2007, the program will continue through 2009 and is supported by the NSF grant no. 0649070.
