Ohio State University Extension Bulletin

Reducing Spray Drift

Bulletin 816-00

Introduction

Spray drift occurs wherever liquid sprays are applied. Although complete elimination of spray drift is impossible, problems can be reduced to a minimum if chemicals are applied with the proper equipment under favorable weather conditions. Increased awareness of environmental quality and better understanding of the causes of spray drift can help operators make sounder judgments for safer, more efficient applications.

In this Extension bulletin, we discuss what drift is, why drift is undesirable, factors affecting drift and the management strategies you can follow to reduce drift
