NWS Science and Technology Planning 
Workshop Summary
June 13-14, 2001

An NWS Technology Infusion Plan (TIP) is being developed to provide a Science and Technology Roadmap for the next 25 years.  Over the last several months, NWS/Science Plans Branch has drafted an initial plan based primarily on published documents,.e.g.: The NRC Vision.  A workshop was held in June, 2001 to have the science community critique this draft and to shape it further. 

 The TIP Document  is the current draft plan. The plan is organized primarily along the following lines: 

1. Vision and Goals 
2.  Enabling Technologies 
3. Observations 
4. Numerical Prediction 
5.  Forecast Techniques and Product Generation 
6. Fundamental Research
