 Ag-Entrepreneurship Division's "Alternative Agricultural Markets In Alberta" is now available for distribution.

This study had two primary goals:
  1. To quantify the current value of the Ag-Tourism, Farm Direct, Farmers' Markets and Regional Cuisine markets in Alberta.
  2. To determine the potential for growth in these four key business areas by 2010 to support the department's Growth Strategy.
Information learned in this study will be used for strategic business planning and evaluating current and future needs. In addition to determining current consumer expenditure and market potential by 2010 (the estimated market value by 2010 is $1.7 Billion), the study discusses market profile, market penetration and consumer awareness.
