HEALTH CONSULTATION
BOARHEAD FARMS
BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
The residents in the on-site residence reported drinking bottled water but were using contaminated water for bathing and cooking until the carbon filter unit was installed on October 15, 1997. PADOH does not believe that the exposures to 41 µg/L posed a public health hazard for the period of time the family was exposed. The family did not report any adverse health effects while they were using water containing up to 1,100 µg/L. The site currently poses no apparent public health hazard because the filtration system has stopped the exposure.
Use of off-site private well water near the Boarhead Farms site poses no public health hazard.
Data collected from the wells over the past four years do not indicate any hazardous chemicals
present in the water at levels of public health concern, and natural geologic features and long-term
remedial actions should prevent any contamination of area private wells.
