Author's Search Tips
The bibliography is searchable by the full text. Consequently, if you know the last name of an author, you can search by using the author's last name. If you have a word or phrase for the particular topic that interests you, you can search by that word or phrase.
The bibliography is also searchable by the seventy-seven legal subject categories and sub-categories in the Browse Categories option. Clicking on the category that interests you will take you to the beginning for all entries under that category. When you search by category, you should select several categories to view for two reasons:
Most articles could be placed in more than one legal category but were usually placed in only one. For example, an article on the tax aspects of livestock production could have been classified under # 41 Taxation or # 31 Livestock.
Your mental classification scheme you may differ from the classification scheme used by the compiler. For example, you may think of agricultural liens as # 20 Finance and Credit, whereas the compiler may have categorized articles on agricultural liens under # 46.1 Uniform Commercial Code: Article Nine relating to security interests in agricultural collateral.
Moreover, the bibliography has been compiled over a period of twenty years. Legal subject categories changed in emphasis during those twenty years, and new categories were added. The compiler may not have categorized articles in a consistent fashion throughout those twenty years.
