U.S. General Soil Map (STATSGO2)

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) - National Cartography and Geospatial Center (NCGC) previously archived and distributed the State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) Database. The STATSGO spatial and tabular data were revised and updated in 2006. STATSGO has been renamed to the U.S. General Soil Map (STATSGO2). It is available for download from the Soil Data Mart.

Currently, the Soil Data Mart only has file download capability for data delivery. If a CD-ROM or DVD is needed, access the Geospatial Data Gateway. The cost is $50 for a single CD-ROM or $100 for a single DVD disk which may contain one or more soil survey areas, depending on file size.
