Oregon State University Hosting Battle of the Bands

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The seventh annual Memorial Union Program Council Battle of the Bands will be held at Oregon State University on Friday, June 1, in the Memorial Union Quad on campus.

This year’s event, which starts at 4:30 p.m., will include 11 bands competing for the title of Battle of the Bands champion. Each band will perform for 30 minutes.

Each band has at least one member who is an OSU student, said Machelle Kennedy, coordinator of Memorial Union Programs.

The event will open with the band Stairway Denied, followed by the competition, with the winners announced following a performance by last year’s winner, Sweater Club.

A 21-and-older beer garden will be provided by Rogue Ales and food vendors will be on site. Battle of the Bands will be broadcast live on KBVR 88.7 FM and on KBVR-TV Channel 26.
