CORVALLIS, Ore. – Richard Parsons, the chairman and chief executive officer of Time Warner, will give a free public lecture at Oregon State University on Thursday, Feb. 8, beginning at 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by OSU’s College of Business as part of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. It will be held in the Austin Auditorium inside the Lasells Stewart Center, 26th Street and Western Boulevard in Corvallis.
Parsons became CEO in May 2002, and chairman in May 2003. Since then, he has led Time Warner’s turnaround and set the company on a solid path toward achieving sustainable growth.
Parsons was named the “Top CEO in the Entertainment Industry” by Institutional Investor magazine in 2005. Prior to his tenure at Time Warner, he served as chairman and CEO at Dime Bancorp, Inc.; was managing partner of the New York law firm Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler; and held various positions in state and federal government. He also has served as counsel for Nelson Rockefeller, and was a senior White House aide under former President Gerald Ford.
Parsons’ lecture is titled “The Future of Media.”
