Operating Hours & Seasons

Current Park Hours:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Hours are adjusted seasonally and during holiday periods.

Liberty and Ellis Islands are open daily except December 25th.

Our highest visitation occurs during the months of June through September. Visitation can be high during holiday and weekend periods throughout the year. Please note that visitors choosing to arrive on the final ferry departure from mainland will need to choose one island to visit.  Time constraints late in the day will not permit to visit both sites. We also urge you to compensate for ferry transportation time when planning your trip.

For further information on hours of operation, please call the park's information line at:  (212) 363-3200.  The ferry company posts schedules on-line at:  www.statuecruises.com

Did You Know?
The Statue's original torch was the first part constructed in 1876. In 1984 it was replaced by a new copper torch covered in 24K gold leaf which is lighted by floodlight at night. The original torch is currently located in the lobby of the monument. Access to the torch has been closed since 1916.
