The Center for Tropical Paleoecology and Archaeology is housed in the historic Ancon Building, a 10-minute walk from the Tupper Center, The facility is designed and equipped for processing samples of fossils and sediments, as well as for geological mapping and stratigraphy. The building also houses STRI's permanent research collections of pollen, phytoliths, and marine fossils.
