INTELLIGENCE SUPPORT (INTS)

This course is designed to train individuals in the functions and responsibilities of the Intelligence Support Specialist position within the dispatch/coordination system. The target group includes those individuals responsible for the intelligence workload at the initial attack dispatch office and those interested in providing intelligence support at the local Dispatch Center, Geograpic Area Coordination Center (GACC), and National Corrdination Center (NICC).

NEXT COURSE TO BE OFFERRED:
Rocky Mountain Coordination Center (March 24-26, 2009)  For more information.

INTELLIGENCE LEAD (INTL)

This is a journeyman level program with a target group to include personnel in dedicated Intelligence positions or individuals wishing to gain expertise in those areas of the Intelligence function that go beyond mere reporting. The focus here is on maintaining weather stations, interpreting weather and climatological data, analyzing NFDRS data for short and long-range outlooks, and using mapping software, ROSS, and other programs to provide operational decision support for MAC groups. Qualified personnel would be used nationwide to provide enhanced Intelligence functionality for those offices requiring additional staffing / coverage due to workload, and position vacancies.  The Intelligence Training Committees intent is not to develop a training course, but rather to develop a task book for qualification purposes.
