International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network
The
International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN),
formerly known as the International Marketing Supervision
Network (IMSN), is a membership organization consisting of the
trade practices law enforcement authorities of more than three
dozen countries, most of which are members of the Organization
for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The mandate of
the Network is to share information about cross-border
commercial activities that may affect consumer interests, and to
encourage international cooperation among law enforcement
agencies. The working languages of the Network are French and
English.
The
Network operates under a rotating Presidency, currently held by
the Direction générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et
de la Répression des Fraudes (DGCCRF) of France until August
2009. The latest conference was held in Puerto Varas, Chile, on
April 17-18, 2008. The next meeting will take place in Paris
from 27-30 October 2008. |
