Dededo, GUAM -- In recognition of the Christmas holiday on the U.S mainland, FEMA's teleregistration office for applying for federal disaster assistance will be closed on December 26, Guam time.

Even though the 800 teleregistration line will not be available, the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will be open starting December 26. Persons who have already registered can visit a DRC if they have questions about assistance. Applicants are invited to visit one of the three DRCs to meet with FEMA program staff, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives, or other agencies participating in the federal response to Super Typhoon Pongsona. The centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

People who have suffered damages from the storm should call 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA) to register for assistance. Speech- or hearing- impaired persons may call 1-800-462-7585. Teleregistration hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week, Guam time, except for December 26 as noted above.
