Rahall (D-WV) today introduced a joint resolution - with the support of 12 co-sponsors - invoking the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the highly controversial gutting of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) pushed through by the Bush Administration during its waning days in office.

WASHINGTON D.C.- Just three short weeks after the rupture of a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) coal ash dam unleashed an avalanche of coal ash sludge covering more than 300 acres, House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) today introduced legislation requiring federal standards to regulate the engineering of coal ash impoundments.

GAO Finds Administration Failed to Protect Marine Mammals from Commercial Fishing |

WASHINGTON D.C. - A new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report made public today at the request of House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) concludes that, under the Bush Administration, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has failed to meet its obligations to protect marine mammals from incidental injury or death resulting from commercial fishing activities.
