Partnership in water, sanitation and health

"Negotiating and sustaining national and global partnerships" ...
is one of the six core functions listed in the General Programme of Work 2002-2005 of WHO.

Much of the work of WHO on water, sanitation and hygiene is done in partnership with other organizations of many types.

Some of our important partnership activities include:

• International Network to Promote Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage
• Dialogue on Water, Food and Environment
• Water law, health and development
• Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Monitoring through the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme

WHO also works through :

• A Network of international centres of excellence, called Collaborating Centres
• A Network of NGOs in "official relations" with WHO
