PURPOSE

The Global Regulations & Policy Task Force was created to:

1. Use recommendations from Current & Emerging Science Issues Expert Advisory Panel to coordinate the Institute's participation in specific activities of international bodies.
2. Advise Public Policy & Regulatory Outreach Advisory Panel on regulatory and legislative issues which could potentially have a global impact on food science and technology or the food industry.
3. Guide development of appropriate IFT responses to identified issues (e.g., provide comments to a regulatory agency, refer to another professional organization) in accordance with IFT scientific viewpoints or policies on government communications.
4. Provide oversight to the Codex Subject Experts' involvement in Codex.
