Communities

Attention Community Members
You must be logged in to view member-only content for your Community. Once logged in, your Community access will appear on the left-hand menu.

The IFT community is broad in scope -- both geographically and in member expertise. IFT professionals work internationally in industry, academia, and government, representing the diverse disciplines that comprise the food science and technology field.

Through participation in Regional Sections and Divisions of Expertise, IFT members network, share ideas and knowledge, and learn the latest food science and technology developments.

Regional Sections
IFT Regional Sections are the local regional chapters of IFT. Participation in a Regional Section provides up-to-date scientific information, along with an excellent opportunity to network and share recent developments in food science and technology. Each Section charges dues and holds a minimum of three meetings a year. To join a Regional Section contact the IFT office for the name and phone number of the Secretary.

Divisions
Advance your profession and network with others in your area of food science and technology expertise by joining one or more Divisions of Expertise. These communities of interest focus on specific disciplines within food science and technology. Divisions promote their disciplines through newsletters, meetings, short courses, scholarship sponsorships, and participation in program development for the IFT Annual Meeting. Division membership is available to all IFT Members.

Constitutionally Reguired Committees
Committees of the Institute help to shape and govern IFT activities. IFT members may volunteer to serve on any of a number of committees that plan and implement activities to meet IFT's critical objectives. All committee members are appointed by the IFT President-Elect.

Workgroups
IFT is committed to creating meaningful, strategic volunteer opportunities for members to help us work towards our organizational mission - to advance the science of food. Workgroups are created periodically to work on mission-critical strategic activities for IFT. If you are interested in participating on a future workgroup, please fill out the volunteer interest form (login required) to submit your preferences.
