Four Focus Areas
NACCHO is the national organization representing local health departments (LHDs). NACCHO provides resources, tools, and assistance to LHDs in the following focus areas:

The Community Health program helps LHDs promote health and prevent disease.

The Environmental Health program helps LHDs promote human health and safe environments by focusing on the relationship between people and their environments.

The Public Health Infrastructure and Systems program helps LHDs perform their core functions and essential services.

The Public Health Preparedness program helps LHDs enhance their readiness to respond to emergencies.
