Manuscript Submission
Submit manuscripts to Nuclear Receptor Signaling using the NRS online submission form. Please refer to the "Manuscript Submission" section in the current Instructions for Authors for information on accessing this form.
Editorial Information
1. Mission Statement
Nuclear Receptor Signaling seeks to establish a current, interactive forum for sharing information and opinions of scientists active in the field of nuclear receptor signaling. Accordingly, it is dedicated to the rapid publication of timely, insightful and scientifically sound perspectives, reviews and techniques articles in the nuclear receptor field.
2. Journal focus
The subject matter of Nuclear Receptor Signaling is restricted to functional, structural and biological facets of signal transduction by nuclear receptors and coregulators, and the regulatory impact of these molecules on gene networks in target cells.
The nuclear receptor signaling field is currently well served by primary research journals. To complement these journals, Nuclear Receptor Signaling will provide a forum dedicated to the publication of short, focused review and perspective articles, in addition to descriptions of techniques and their applications in the nuclear receptor field. Unlike traditional journals, Nuclear Receptor Signaling articles will, where appropriate, be fully cross referenced with NURSA Molecule Pages and datasets, providing background and context where needed.
As of April 2006, Nuclear Receptor Signaling has achieved full PubMed and PubMed Central accreditation and all accepted articles are now indexed in these databases upon publication.

The Nuclear Receptor Signaling editorial advisory board has a revolving membership composed of current and past PIs of NURSA-sponsored bridging projects and pilot & feasibility projects; additional investigators will periodically be invited to join this board. The NURSA referee pool is composed of principal investigators active in the field of nuclear receptor signaling.
4. Editorial procedures
Nuclear Receptor Signaling currently publishes only perspective, review and methods articles. Manuscripts viewed as describing and interpreting unpublished, hypothesis-driven data from the laboratory(ies) of the authors will not be considered for review.
There are no author or page charges associated with submission to Nuclear Receptor Signaling at this time.
The main criteria by which submissions are judged for acceptability are overall relevance to the field of nuclear receptor signaling, originality and scientific insight and integrity. Submissions that are technically or intellectually sound, but which lack discernable applicability in the nuclear receptor field are not suitable for publication in Nuclear Receptor Signaling.
Submissions to Nuclear Receptor Signaling will be assessed initially at a regular meeting of the editorial office. Manuscripts satisfying initial criteria for review (see below) will be routed to two referees and will be reviewed within six weeks of receipt. While authors are encouraged to suggest reviewers, the identity of the reviewers actually selected by the editorial office will not be made known to the authors at any time. The editors may consult a member of the editorial board (see above) for their opinion on a submission in the event of a split review. The editorial board member will read the manuscript before taking into account the opinions of the referees and the editors and rendering a decision. The corresponding author will then be informed of the decision on the manuscript, along with the relevant comments of the referees.
Note that only one cycle of review and rebuttal is allotted for each submission.
Manuscripts accepted with revision must be resubmitted within eight weeks of notification of the corresponding author. Each referee comment must be addressed with a description of the modifications made, if any, or with a carefully considered rebuttal of the comments of the referee.
