Naming Opportunities

Museum Facilities

Duration of naming opportunity will not exceed 30 years

African Art pavilion: $7 million
Large exhibition hall: $4 million
Medium exhibition gallery: $2 million
Small exhibition gallery: $1 million
Conservation laboratory: $1 million


Art Acquisitions

Special art acquisition fund: $1—25 million
Each time a privately funded collection is publicly displayed or published, the donor will be appropriately acknowledged.

Individual Art Purchase: $50,000—$5 million
Individual donor's name will be acknowledged each time the artwork purchased is displayed or published.

Sponsorship Programs and Projects

Exhibitions

Long-term exhibition: $100,000—$2 million
Short-term exhibition: $75,000—$500,000
Incoming exhibition: $75,000—$500,000
Traveling exhibition: $100,000—$1 million


Endowed positions (10-year term)

Named director: $3—$4 million
Named senior curator: $1.5—2 million
Named educator: $1—$2 million


Educational programs

Multiyear, national initiative: $100,000—$2 million

Tax deductibility
Your acknowledgement letter will clarify the amount of your contribution's tax deductibility. This amount is determined in accordance with Internal Revenue Service regulations. The tax deduction is the difference between your dues contribution and the fair market value of the goods and services you have chosen as benefits of your membership. Entertaining at the Museum

Is your organization looking for a special place to hold an event? Situated in the beautiful Enid A. Haupt Garden in view of the Capitol, the National Museum of African Art provides a first-class venue for a wide range of events, from intimate dinners to large receptions. Private and curator-led tours are available for your guests.

Entertain your guests in the pavilion, with its breathtaking architecture and engaging, thought-provoking artwork; on the first floor mezzanine at the base of the grand staircase; or throughout the three gallery-filled levels nestled below the pavilion.

First floor mezzanine
Capacity: 75 for a standing reception; 60 for a seated event
