Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Database Information

Region 2 Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Reports
This site provides general information and preformatted FOIA reports/extracts for the Region 2 RCRA Program and its National Databases, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information (RCRAInfo) and Biennial Reporting System (BRS.) FOIA reports are provided as .pdf, and extracts as .xls - for those who need data as a spreadsheet or as a database.

The intent of this site is to provide, on a monthly update schedule, as much standard information as possible via a point-and-click design. This is not an online query tool. Reports available are for Handler, Permit, Corrective Action and Enforcement data. Each report type is posted as an array of smaller reports - filtered by RCRA Defined Universes (ex: Generator types, TSD types, Transporters) and Sorts (by Name, Id, and various Locational data).

This schema is an attempt to satisfy the majority of FOIA requests Region 2 has logged over time. The benefit of these canned solutions is that the largest report, can be over 10MB, scan be easily downloaded. This site is better suited for, and caters to, but is not limited to, larger data dumps, where end users would like to filter through a prepared report at their leisure.

RCRAInfo: the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information system tracks data collected on generators, transporters, treaters, storers, and disposers of hazardous waste. These handlers of hazardous material are required to provide information concerning their waste activity in accordance to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The data collected on handlers includes basic site identification, permit or closure status, and corrective action tracking. To view data collected on any specific sites or geographic areas, visit our direct link to Envirofacts:

Envirofacts Data Warehouse retrieves environmental information from EPA databases on Superfund sites, drinking water, toxic and air releases, hazardous waste and Biennial Reporting System data, water discharge permits, and grants information. Use online queries to retrieve data or generate maps of environmental information by choosing from several mapping applications available through EPA's Maps On Demand.
