Abstract

This paper presents some ways in which our group intend to make use of the Visible Human Dataset (VHD). These are embryonic ideas at the moment but provide some alternative suggestions as to how such a dataset might prove useful. The paper is split into two parts. The first gives an overview of a deformable model used for image registration and suggests that an atlas based on the VHD may provide the necessary segmentation. The second outlines how synthetic images created from the VHD could provide test data for validation of both rigid and non-rigid registration algorithms.
