Pitch-in to Fight Colorado Invasive
About 15 volunteers recently attended a demonstration in McElmo Canyon that
showed ways to control tamarisk. The Dolores Tamarisk Action Group and the
Dolores Colorado Soil Conservation District hosted a tamarisk eradication
demonstration.

Deadline Near For Fifth Annual Excellence in
Conservation Award
NRCS employees have until the end of January to complete their nominations for
the fifth annual Excellence in Conservation Award.

NRCS staff will participate at the upcoming Agricultural Outlook Forum on
February 16-17, 2006, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington,

Conservation Improves Nevada Rangeland
In an evolving project that truly demonstrates cooperative conservation, Nevada
ranchers and federal and state wildlife, forestry and rangeland conservation
specialists are collaborating on an innovative team approach to manage sensitive
habitats on public land.

Erosion Prediction System (WEPS)
Wind erosion damages the soil, endangers life, reduces crop production,
increases sedimentation, and creates air quality problems in many parts of the
world.
