Standing Committees and Working Groups

The FPIC holds monthly meetings to brief the membership on FPIC activities, to exchange wireless-related news, and to solicit input from the federal wireless communications community. The FPIC completes its work through standing committees and working groups.

The FPIC has four standing committees that meet monthly to focus on:

  • Interoperability
  • Security
  • Spectrum
  • Standards

Ad-hoc working groups are established to consider, investigate, and/or act on a specific activity or subject area of interest to members.

Technology Workshops

The FPIC also hosts Technology Workshops to educate its membership about wireless communications equipment and serve as the federal wireless communications community’s liaison to industry, periodically obtaining technical updates and equipment reviews from vendors.  Technology Workshops are typically held in conjunction with the monthly FPIC meetings for 1-3 hours.

Vendors interested in presenting wireless communications equipment or services should send proposed presentation materials to the FPIC Program Support.  FPIC members will evaluate proposed vendor materials to determine the value of their offerings to the FPIC.  If approved, the FPIC will notify vendors of available dates and times for the Technology Workshop.
