Current Conditions
Road and trail information
Hells Canyon Scenic Byway/Wallowa Mountains Loop (Forest Road 39) Due to snow, the loop road is closed to vehicle traffic from State Highway 86 to Salt Creek Summit. From Joseph plows have bermed the road past Salt Creek Summit Sno-Park and signs have been posted. Snowmobilers and skiers can park their vehicles at the Sno-Park (A Sno-Park permit is required).
Elkhorn Drive Scenic Byway/Anthony Lakes Highway Due to snow, the loop road is closed to vehicle traffic from Anthony Lakes Ski Area to Granite. In the Granite area snowmobilers and skiers can park their vehicles at Granite or Blue Spring Summit. In the Anthony Lakes vicinity, parking is available at the Anthony Lakes Ski Area and Grande Ronde Lake Sno-park where a Sno-Park permit is required.

Bridges
Tamarack Campground Foot Bridge - Broken and in the river as a result of high water flow.
Buck Creek Bridge - Closed. In May, due to safety concerns, the La Grande Ranger District will close the bridge on Forest Road 7787 where it crosses the North Fork Catherine Creek at Buck Creek. In July the bridge will be removed.
