USDA Whitten BuildingThe Office of Operations provides overall direction, leadership, coordination, and guidance in activities relating to facilities management, engineering and architecture, internal energy conservation, recycling, and mail and copier management programs.

In the News

Effective August 19, 2007, John Crew was selected to serve as Director, Departmental Administration Office of Operations. Mr. Crew started his Federal career as a Forester with the Bureau of Land Management. After eight years as a Forester in Western Oregon, he was appointed as the Administrative Officer for the Bureau of Land Management in Las Vegas, NV. He later joined USDA as an Administrative Officer for Agricultural Research Service (ARS) North Atlantic Area (NAA) in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. In 2002, he was selected to be the Deputy Area Director of the NAA. Mr. Crew succeeds Priscilla Carey who recently retired after more than 30 years of service.
