Rangeland is land supporting indigenous or introduced vegetation that is either grazed or has the potential to be grazed and is managed as a natural ecosystem, including grassland, grazeable forestland, shrubland, pastureland and riparian areas. It is intended as a tool for livestock producers, resource managers, agency staff, energy companies, protected area managers and anyone with an interest in the conservation and maintenance of rangeland plant communities to assess rangeland health and use rangeland in a sustainable manner.
