Tiel Talk is a friendly cockatiel forum brought to you by Birds n Ways. It is open to all pet bird owners and breeders. Feel free to share your pet cockatiel stories, ask questions, debate issues, and offer support and empathy to others in their time of need.
The goals of this forum are the advancement of aviculture, the open exchange of ideas, and the establishment of rapport with other cockatiel fanciers. We have many people with advanced knowledge of aviculture who are happy to assist you with any of your cockatiel related problems. However, we have no veterinary or medical training, but may be able to offer tips and suggestions which we have learned through experience and which may see you through until you can contact your veterinarian.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS, EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. BUT
IF YOUR BIRD IS ILL, CONSULT YOUR AVIAN VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY.
To achieve these goals, the following set of rules have been established:
- Tiel Talk is a moderated board. The Administrators/Moderators manage the board. ALL posts are subject to review and/or removal by the Administrators/Moderators.
- Any post that puts a bird at risk will immediately be deleted.
- No profanity or vulgar terminology.
- No malicious attacks on persons or groups. Disrespect shown to any Member or one of the Tiel Talk Staff will not be tolerated. A lively debate is always welcome as long as you debate the issue and not attack the person posting.
- If a post is made which is considered to be in poor taste, the post will be deleted. If an individual continues to post questionable messages, he or she may be banned from the site. This will be left to the Tiel Talk Staff's judgement.
- The following are not permitted: spam, advertising of birds, products, or services for sale; direct linking to other bird chat forums, promoting rescue organizations of any kind; posting on political/religious or any controversial subjects; pulling bird related issues from the board to e-mail. If you have questions as to what is permitted, please e-mail the Administrators/Moderators for clarification.
- If you see a posting which fits in one of the above catagories (a troll), immediately post a message for others NOT TO READ OR RESPOND TO the posting. After you have done this, please e-mail one of the Administrators/Moderators in order for the situation to be corrected in a timely manner.
- Saturdays and Wednesdays are designated as off-topic (OT) days and these are the only days during which non-bird related topics are permitted. Please limit picture posting to three (3) per day; this includes OT days.
- You must use a valid e-mail address to post on Tiel Talk in case it is necessary for the Administrators/Moderators to contact you. Your e-mail address is kept private with only the Administrators/Moderators having access.
- Using store names and brand names in a derogatory fashion is not permitted for the protection of BirdsnWays, Tiel Talk and its members.

If at any time you have a question or concern regarding the Tiel Talk Message Board, please feel free to contact an Administrator or a Moderator by clicking on their name from one of their posts. Administrator's emails are also shown at the bottom of the board pages.
