Welcome

Welcome to the National Interagency Incident Communications Division (NIICD) web page. NIICD is a partnership between the USDA Forest Service and the Department of the Interior's agencies. We are located at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, Idaho.

Our Mission

NIICD's mission is to provide portable emergency communications, technical training, and airborne remote sensing imagery services in a professional, prompt and customer-oriented manner, while optimizing resources and minimizing risks.

Our major focus is wildland fire suppression, but our equipment and personnel have been utilized on hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, oil spills, and other man-made and natural disasters where federal assistance is required.
