The Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperatives was established
on April 1, 1910, during the reign of King Rama V. However,
the promotion and development of agriculture in Thailand
can be traced back to the Sukhothai Period. The development
became more explicit with the establishment of Department
of Na in Ayutthaya. In Rattanakosin Period, the development
was always carried on, the organization's name has been
changed from Ministry of Kasetpanichakarn, Kasettrathikarn,
Kasetpanichayakarn, Setthakarn, Kasettrathikarn, Kaset
to the Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperatives (Kaset
and Sahakorn) today.
