Office of Food Protection

Protects and promotes health and prevents disease by assuring the safety and quality of the food supply through inspection, plan review and approval of food establishments, and investigation of complaints and foodborne disease outbreaks. Provides 24 hour emergency coverage for fires, accidents and natural disasters involving food products. Responsible for food labeling; protection against consumer fraud relating to food; response to certain environmental complaints; inspections of school and recreational facilities; bathing area sampling; developing assisted living food standard; and certification of food managers.

Food Establishments

Use these documents which explain what should be done in the event 1. a Boil Water Advisory is called, and 2. what steps a food establishment should take after the boil water advisory has been lifted to ensure that any residual water left in the establishment is Cleaned and Sanitized.
