LANDOWNERS FOR WILDLIFE
LANDOWNERS FOR WILDLIFE PROGRAMThe "Landowners for Wildlife" program is designed to assist private landowners who wish to achieve wildlife conservation goals on their properties. The Wildlife Division within the LA Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will provide advice and direction on a variety of state and federal programs available to landowners. The partners involved in this coordinated effort include: the LA Department of Ag and Forestry (LDAF), the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. LDWF's "Landowners for Wildlife" biologists, within 7 regional offices, are the first point of contact. They assist with answering basic questions on costs and resource needs, develop management plans, guide landowners through the required paperwork and follow up to ensure that goals are achieved. The goal is to make the "Landowners for Wildlife" biologists a one-stop-shop source for the myriad of programs that can provide conservation assistance.
