NC State Web Page Accessibility Regulation

In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and North Carolina state law (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 168A-7), North Carolina State University is required to provide reasonable access to its educational services, programs and activities

The United States Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) have stated that " ADA accessibility requirements apply to Internet web pages"

To help NC State meet its obligations to provide accessible web content, the university's Executive Officers approved an NC State University Web Page Accessibility Regulation and Implementation Guidelines on March 3, 2006

NC State's Web Page Accessibility Regulation - REG04.24.05 outlines procedures by which the university will meet its legal obligations to provide equitable access to Web content for people with disabilities.

The Web Page Accessibility Implementation Document, an addendum to the Regulation, provides NC State content creators guidelines for bringing their web pages and resources into compliance, with priority given to pages that will have maximum impact.
