The Olive That's Not
Although Paul and Luisa Zmoda grow true olives at Flatwoods Farm in Florida, they have found Ceylon olive, which isn’t a true olive, to be a bit less demanding.

Manipulating the Flowering of Lychee and Mango
Occasionally discouragement and idle time bring inspiration. This is what Don Batten described one day in a presentation to the Sub-Tropical Fruit Club of Queensland, Australia. Sheryl Backhouse was there, and it occurred to her that Fruit Gardener readers might be interested in the details. So here they are.

Extreme Fruit Growing
Andrew Glazier clearly succumbed to the same sort of amazement that characterizes so many visitors to Walter Thoma’s fruit-growing grounds. Walter’s commonsense solutions to needs or problems seem always to end up unusually productive, visually arresting and and larger than life. And the fruit grown there is wonderful.

Xishuangbanna, China
Markku Häkkinen always returns from Asia with interesting information and great photographs. This initial report of his 2005 expedition to China is no exception.

Apricot Apple
One day more than 20 years ago Lon Rombough came upon a few chance apple seedlings growing alongside a rural Oregon Road. One was loaded with fruit. He stopped to try a taste, and decided to get some cuttings. He calls it Apricot apple.
